Fishermans coat

I can remember when German military overcoats were all the rage. They were camo green, big and bulky, with the little German flag on the side of the shoulder. For a while it seemed everyone had one. No..everyone did have one. Maybe a fisherman's jacket from the hardware store is the new thing. I love this sort of functional utilitarianism in fashion. Made more popular in recent times with the photographer Bill Cunningham and his blue working smock. Thing is with this guy, it's not an afterthought. It goes so well with his striped T, and his awesome bag (made by a guy in Elizabeth Bay - not going anymore). Darlinghurst Road, Sydney.
